Each square inch of human skin consists of twenty feet of blood vessels.

No, skin consists of skin cells. Skin may contain blood vessels however.

Most of those trivial facts are probably true and they were fun to read. It's also fun to try and figure out which are correct and which aren't and how they found out some of this stuff in the first place! study

I dunno Mel, I might quibble with you there. What is commonly referred to as "skin" is the Integumentary system and it is an organ (the body's largest) containing both skin cells and blood vessels. It also contains hair, sweat glands and their products, and a layer of dead collapsed skin cells among other things.

I guess it's a matter of semantics.

I think there is some inconsistency in the statements though. If you follow my interpretation of what "skin" is then the statement in #31 should be "skin cells".

True, skin does consist of a variety of things. That statement made it seem as if it consists only of 20 feet of blood vessels however.

Okay, now I see what you mean. You are correct. It's a poorly worded statement.
