Not pasting both articles, just linking.

Mysterious, purple spheres found in the desert: http://www.kgun9.com/news/local/189113371.html

Is mysterious green 'slime' found in Somerset wildlife park linked with meteor strike?: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/russia-meteor-shower-mysterious-green-1716220

Personally the green slime looks more like frog eggs without the egg part, with just the slime they leave behind. The purple spheres may be something similar. I totally want one of the purple ones though cause they look pretty.

I just love how in this day and age science is still finding stuff it can't find an answer for.

It'll be interesting to find out what they actually are. The spheres could be a load of the deco beads that someone stole and dumped in the desert or they could be a life form with a very long dormancy period, given it is the desert.

The slime named astral jelly could also be a life form with a long dormancy period so rarely seen. It could be debris or gases emited by disintegrating meteoroids trigger its growth.

There are all kinds of slime molds and bacterial colonies and they usually are fairly weird like this.

Life is complex.  Parts of it are real and parts of it are imaginary.  (read in a novel by Gregory Benford.)

Absurdity is one of the great joys of life.

All you need for a rich life is to see more.
