default A free, or at least extremely low-cost, university?

I found the information about this new type of university at this link: Cool

http://www.forbes.com/sites/georgeanders/2012/06/05/udacity-sebastian-thrun-disrupting-higher-education/

And the link to this disruptive idea here:

So, is Sebastian Thrun correct? I do tend to agree with him about the current college/university model now being obsolete, due to how many times people now have to re-educate themselves over their lifetimes in order to develop new skill sets. Of course, such adaptability is a large part of what you're supposed to gain from earning a college degree, even under the old college/university model.

OMG! I absolutely love this concept. The teaching methods are still in their infancy but the potential is huge. I'd be all over it once it matures. This is exactly what people who struggle to maintain their education or even go through it the first time need.

People who know me know I rarely gush like this too.

default free classes

This article came in one of my newsletters today. Although the emphasis is programming, it includes sites with classes covering a very wide range of topics, some perhaps an entire college curriculum.
