default HAIL SATAN!

Post by Nucky on Fri Apr 01, 2011 2:26 am

Yep, I am officially a Satanist now. It feels great to have finally found a religion that works for me. I just read a copy of LaVey's "The Satanic Bible" and it all made perfect sense to me. There are a lot of misconceptions about Satanism; all it really is about is empowering the self. I'm all for it!

This is interesting. Be prepared for a lot of ignorance and fear in regards to this.

I've been studying various pagan religions lately, ones that are often thought to be "satanic" by "born again" Christians. The history of the pagan=satan association is all pretty obvious. As a "power-grab" the early church made anything not christian into something satanic. It was a good terrorist tactic by church leaders, very effective.

I've been wearing a pentagram which is an ancient Celtic earth symbol. I work with several "born agains". When they see my necklace there is a perceptible shift. One, who I believe is the most aligned with what Jesus really taught, has not changed her kind and helpful attitude toward me. The others have become cold, one even hostile. (Remember that I live in the deep south freakout )

It turns me off on all these "fairy tales" in general. I don't believe all the stuff about the moon goddess any more than I believe the stuff about Easter (sorry people).

But, I do believe that there is a kernel of truth in all religions. I am not an atheist. Religions are suppose to help man get along with one another (not put us at each other's throats).

So, what is it about what you label as "satanism" that resonates with you Nucky?

Haha, yeah, Nucky what's so great about having a 'religion' ?

I'm generally familiar with Lavey, but have not read that work. How does he define the 'self' ?

Yup, a kernel.

I tend to dig even deeper than kernel locations and I also tend to be a do-it-yourself'er so I have no use for religions, dogma and priests.

I don't have a whole lot of use for religion either. Being raised by a mother with strict religious views, Jehovah's Witness, (I'm not knocking my mother in any way she meant well and was overall a good mom) can do that to you. However, I haven't ruled it out altogether, there is possibly a .00001% chance. Smile

Reamsie, out of curiosity, what would be a example of .00001% that would change your mind in favor ?

Oh something on the scale of a live and in person visit from the big man (or woman). Whether it be God, Budda, Odin, Satan, Amaterasu,Hinakuluia or whatever they are calling themselves these days.

Oh yeah, and HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY! lol!

But in all seriousness, Satanism isn't as evil as people make it out to be.
