A silver lining to the rapid rise of gas prices?
The subject title is a little blurb I heard on the news a few minutes ago. Apparently, if gasoline prices rise much further, a number of manufacturers will be forced to return at least a portion of their manufacturing operations to the U.S. Primarilty because the cost of shipping manufactured products back to the U.S. will soon become cost prohibitive for many of the manufacturers.

So much for outsourcing huh? A blessing in disguise for the US. You got a new link you can pass along?

I guess with all rapid change, there are hidden benefits admist the deficits. I love it too. But, it won't last forever. Things seem to go in cycles.

Merlin, I wish I did have a link. Only heard a short blurb on the radio when I first got home from work. Will have to see what I can find on Google when I get home from some errands.Merlin wrote:So much for outsourcing huh? A blessing in disguise for the US. You got a new link you can pass along?

Hmm, that's very interesting. Of course then you can see another downside in that customers (we) are going to buy fewer non-essential items because we are pinching pennies even harder now. It's all very interesting to observe. How it all washes out will be even more interesting.
